Oi – Organic Initiative - Packaging & National and International Marketing
Oi is a disruptive and sustainable brand, on a mission to reduce plastic, synthetics and chemicals from the environment.
Oystercatchers NZ Director Heather Ware was embedded at Oi as the Global Marketing and Product Development Manager to carry the ‘positive protest’ through the Oi USA launch and campaigns.
Fire and Emergency NZ - Stakeholder Engagement and rebrand project
The most trusted organisation in New Zealand needed a new emblem that firefighters would be proud of and the public still recognised.
New Zealand Fire Service and the National Rural Fire Authority merged needing a new name and identity. Oystercatchers NZ ran the national stakeholder engagement with staff, unions, iwi, diversity representatives, the board and management for Cato Brand Partners. Together with insights from consumer research agency informed the Cato creative team.
Oi Girl – Product Development & Launch
Oi Girl is a world-first range of smaller pads, panty liners and tampons made with pure and natural organic cotton.
OystercatchersNZ worked alongside the Oi product development team, managing the research, strategy, packaging development and brochure ware in English, Spanish and French with the creative team, Cato Brand Partners. Oi Girl then was managed from concept to launch into New Zealand and the United States in both retail, online and 3rd party market places.

Korikori – Brand & Stakeholder Engagement
“Korikori” is about inspiring hauora with schools by supporting tamariki and rangatahi to enjoy active lives.
Aktive is a charitable trust with a vision to make Auckland the world’s most active city. The “Korikori” initiative was developed with its four Regional Partners and schools for a healthier and more active Tāmaki Makauarau. Oystercatchers NZ facilitated regional workshops with school representatives and Aktive’s Māori advisers. We developed the name “Korikori - Let’s Move” and worked with Saatchi & Saatchi on the logo. We completed the brand guidelines and templates, as we have done for Aktive and the GoodSports & Hera initiatives.
Dermel Vet – Brand & product packaging
DermelVet has developed a natural and highly effective product from medical grade mānuka for horse wound care.
Oystercatchers NZ worked with Oha Honey’s in-house project team and their vet adviser from concept to the new brand and packaging. DermelVet is an exciting and innovative product, clinically proven to promote faster healing. No drugs. No antibiotics. The medicinal golden honey drop communicates immediately the product and the pack design combines key selling points with a pure white and naturally healthy horse - the outcome. The product is sold in veterinary stores and online selling and comes with a retail display box.
Apis Solutions – Brands & implementation
Apis Solutions is an innovative company unlocking the potential of bees and providing intelligence on hive health.
Oystercatchers NZ worked directly with the founders and General Manager on the Apis Solutions brand, iAPIS product brand and key messaging. This was then implemented across exhibition material, brochures and a new website. Their product enables commercial beekeepers to make smarter decision and increase productivity. They receive accurate information on each hive’s health, gain visibility across remote Mānuka hive sites, streamline operational management and receive accurate yield data.
Xela Creative Studio - online store
Xela’s modern landscape paintings now reach global consumers and connect people to their home land.
Xela aka Alex, is one of our Oystercatchers and a talented digital illustrator. She wanted people during the pandemic to have a “slice of home” as well as generate passive income. Together with an Oystercatchers mentor set up a business model which allowed for both hand-signed limited editions and travel posters to be ordered through Etsy and distributed globally. Alex set up her Etsy from setting prices, shop presentation and social media to drive sales.
OOMDATA - Name, brand & online design
OOM Data (Outage & Operations Management) helps power companies’ decision-making & productivity.
When the power gets cut, our world is plunged into darkness, and power companies experience an avalanche of calls. Oystercatchers worked with OOM Data’s founder on the naming, branding, product brand, key messages for his tech solutions company which manages this for utilities. We also delivered design guidelines for their APP and website.
